The Bluetooth configuration file expresses common behaviors through which Bluetooth devices can communicate with other devices. Bluetooth Technology defines a wide range of configuration files and describes many different types of use cases. To use Bluetooth wireless technology, devices must be able to translate specific Bluetooth configuration files. The configuration file defines possible applications.
Object Exchange Protocol
The obex Transfer Protocol defines the communication protocol between data objects and two devices for exchanging these objects. Obex supports applications to work on the Bluetooth protocol stack and IrDA stack. For Bluetooth devices, only connection-oriented obex is supported. Three application configuration files, sync, FTP, and OPP, have been developed using obex.
Advanced Audio distribution configuration file (a2dp)
The a2dp configuration file describes how audio quality is transmitted from the media source to the sink point. The configuration file defines two roles: audio source and sink. Typical media players such as Walkman are used. The audio source can be a music player, and the audio sink is a wireless headset. A2dp defines protocols and programs for delivering single-channel or stereo high-quality audio content over an ACL channel.
Audio/Video remote control configuration file (avrcp)
Avrcp is designed to provide standard interfaces for controlling TV and hi-fi devices. This configuration file is used to allow a single remote control device (or other devices) to control A/V devices accessible to all users. Avrcp defines how to control the characteristics of streaming media. Including pause, stop, start replay, volume control, and other types of remote control operations.
Beacon Column
A mode of retaining time slots in basic or adaptive Physical Micro-network channels. The transmission initiated by these time slots is used to synchronize sleep devices.
Basic imaging configuration file (BIP)
BIP defines how imaging devices are remotely controlled, how imaging devices are printed, and how imaging devices transmit images to storage devices. Typical applications include using a mobile phone to control the shutter operation of a digital camera.
Basic print configuration file (BPP)
BPP allows devices to send text, email, vCard, images, or other items to printers in the form of print jobs. It differs from HCRP in that it does not need drivers that vary with the printer. This makes it more suitable for embedded devices, such as mobile phones and digital cameras, which are not easy to use and rely on printer vendor drivers for updates.
Cordless phone configuration file (CTP)
CTP defines how to implement cordless phones through a bluetooth wireless link. This configuration file can be used for dedicated cordless phones or adjacent base stations that implement CTP and for cordless phones. It is expected that when you are at home, the mobile phone can use the Bluetooth CTP gateway connected to the land line, and the mobile phone network is used when the range is exceeded.
Dial-Up Network configuration file (Dun)
Dun provides standards for using Bluetooth wireless technology to access the Internet and other dial-up services. The most common case is to dial up on a mobile phone and connect to the internet wirelessly from a laptop.
Extended Service Discovery configuration file (ESDP)
ESDP defines how generic plug-and-play devices run through Bluetooth wireless connections.
Fax)
The fax configuration file defines how the terminal device uses the fax gateway device. Fax is designed to provide an interface that is defined as appropriate between a mobile phone or a fixed phone or a PC with the fax software installed. The typical configuration is that a personal computer uses a mobile phone as the fax gateway to send fax transmission to any receiver.
File Transfer configuration file (FTP)
FTP defines how client devices browse folders and files on server devices. Once the client finds the file or location, the client can pull the file from the server or push the file from the client to the server through goep.
Conventional audio/video distribution configuration file (gavdp)
Gavdp provides the foundation for a2dp and VDP, and the latter two are the basis of the system designed to distribute audio and video streams using Bluetooth wireless technology. In general use, devices such as Walkman can act as initiators, while headphones act as receivers.
General access configuration file (GAP)
GAP is the basis of all other configuration files. It defines a general method for establishing a baseband link between bluetooth devices. This configuration file defines some common operations that can be used by devices that reference the gap configuration file and implement multiple configuration files. Gap ensures that two bluetooth devices (regardless of the manufacturer and Application) can exchange information through Bluetooth Technology to discover mutually supported applications. Bluetooth devices that do not comply with any other Bluetooth configuration files must comply with the gap to ensure basic interoperability and coexistence.
Common Object switching configuration file (goep)
Goep can be used to transmit objects from one device to another. Objects can be any piece, document, and business card. This configuration file defines two roles: the server that provides the pull or push Object Location and the client that starts the operation. Goep provides a general blueprint for other configuration files using the OBEX protocol.
Hands-free configuration file (HFP)
HFP describes how a gateway device is used for hands-free devices to call and receive calls. Typical configurations are as follows. In the car, the stereo system is used for telephone audio, while the microphone installed in the car is used for sending and outputting audio during calls. HFP can also be used as a mobile phone speaker in a personal computer's home or office environment.
Hard copy cable replacement configuration file (HCRP)
HCRP defines how to print drivers through a bluetooth wireless link. This configuration file defines the client and server roles. The client is a device that contains a print driver. This printer is applicable to servers on which the client wants to print content. Common configurations are printed by a PC acting as a client using a printer acting as a server through a driver. This provides a simpler wireless option to replace the cable connection between the device and the printer. HCRP does not set standards for printer communications, so the driver depends on a specific printer model or range.
Headset configuration file (MK)
This section describes how a Bluetooth headset can communicate with a computer or other bluetooth device, such as a mobile phone. After the connection and configuration, the headset can be used as the audio input and output interfaces of remote devices.
Human/machine interface device configuration file (HID)
The hid configuration file defines the protocols, programs, and functions used by bluetooth hid (such as keyboards, pointing devices, game devices, and remote monitoring devices.
Service discovery application configuration file (sdap)
Sdap describes how an application uses SDP to discover services on a remote device. Sdap requires that any application be able to discover available services on other Bluetooth devices to connect.
SIM card access configuration file (SAP)
SAP allows devices such as on-board phones with built-in GSM transceiver to connect to SIM cards in Bluetooth phones. Therefore, the on-board phone itself does not need a separate SIM card.
Sync configuration file)
The sync configuration file can be used with goep to synchronize calendar and address information (Personal Information Manager (PIM) Items) between bluetooth devices. A common application of this configuration file is data exchange between a PDA and a computer.
Video distribution configuration file (VDp)
VDP defines how a bluetooth device uses Bluetooth wireless technology to transmit video streams. Examples of use cases include streaming stored videos from a PC media center to a portable player, or streaming from a digital camera to a TV.
WAP supported by the Bluetooth configuration file)
WAP defines how the Wireless Application Protocol Suite runs on a bluetooth wireless link. Common configuration is to connect a mobile phone to the public information station through a bluetooth wireless link, http://www.pituo.cc and use WAP browsing information. WAP can work across multiple WAN technologies to provide Internet access services for mobile devices.
Internal communication system configuration file (ICP)
Just as with other noises, the Bluetooth RF may not be received due to other RF interference. Because Bluetooth wireless technology uses bands without a license, this situation is particularly worth noting. Fortunately, this technology has been carefully designed to not only avoid unnecessary noise in the band, but also avoid other radio waves. Some common RF Technologies that affect bluetooth wireless products include microwave ovens and some models of cordless phones.
Serial port configuration file (SPP)
SPP defines how to set virtual serial ports and connect two bluetooth devices.
Personal LAN configuration file (PAN)
Pan describes how two or more Bluetooth devices form an instant network and how to use the same mechanism to connect to a remote network through a network access point. Configuration File roles include network access points, group instant networks, and LAN users.
