The eyes are the window of the soul, the cartoon character's eyes are very important to the whole picture and the expression of the character's emotion. Below we start from the most common comic "beautiful Big Eyes" of the drawing to explain the cartoon characters eye painting!

　　

First draw a curved upward curve, the curve at the top of the line to draw slightly thicker. Here we draw the face to the right side of the eye (that is, the character's left eye), so the left side of the curve is higher than the right end (Japanese-style big eyes some droop, delicate appearance, but hang too much, Little Dragon woman will become old Romba). In fact, the top of the eye is not a perfect curve, but slightly angular. There are also some types of eyes that are almost entirely curved at the top.

　　

Next, we'll draw the lower part of the eye. To determine its position, we begin by gently drawing two diagonal lines from the edge of the eye line as a guide. The inclination of the guide line determines how much wider the eye will be. You can look at the example at the end of this page to see the effect of the line inclination. Draw the next line through the auxiliary lines, the corner of the eye slightly downward to the right, some of the lower right corner of the line to draw slightly thicker.

　　

Erase the auxiliary line and draw a long oval in the eye. There are also some comic characters whose Iris (the eyeball) is a large circle, but here we draw it into a slender oval, of course you can adjust the shape to suit your liking. The upper part of the ellipse will be obscured by the eye line--no matter which style of the eye, we cannot see the whole eye completely, and the upper part is almost covered by the edge of the frame (except, of course, panic and rage).

　　

Next, draw the contour line of the eye's high light. There are usually some shadows in the eyes of comic characters. Girls in comics generally also have a clear shadow and luster. Establish the light source you selected in your drawing and remain unchanged throughout the picture. For example, if the light in a picture is illuminated from the left side, the highlight of the rest of the screen must also originate from the left, otherwise the light and dark relationship will be out of alignment (unless you use multiple light sources, but the textbook does not cover this range). Draw two long oval: large oval in the upper left part of the iris (eye) (overlapping with the edge of the iris, as shown), the small one on the other side of the eye.

　　

Then, draw the pupil under the high light. The highlight area is generally located on the upper end, do not draw the pupil to the high light below. Then draw the eyelashes, the eyes that we draw, and the lashes are a continuous spike from the upper right of the eye. Well, now we're starting to draw another style of eye--not the one we usually see. This type is more slender, elegant, and looks realistic some, so more serious move, often used in comics. This special eye belongs to the Deedlit "Lodosswar" category, more cool than the killer model (this eye starts with the killer!). Draw a slender curve first. The left side should be lower than the right, and the turning point on the left side of the line should be sharper.

　　

To facilitate the definition of the bottom of the eye, gently draw two diagonal intersecting lines from the edge of the eye as a guide. Unlike the tutorials above, the guides here are not as vertical. The more the guides tend to the horizontal line, the smaller the eyes will be. But don't draw too straight, because you don't want these eyes to turn into strabismus. Draw the bottom line of the eye through the auxiliary line.

　　

Erase the Guide line and draw the contour of the iris (eyeball). If there is no eyelid, the eyeball will be a perfect circle. However, when the eyeball is blocked by the edge of the eyelids, we cannot see the top and bottom of the eye. Don't draw the eyeball too small, at least you can see the whole object. (unless you want to convey some kind of emotion, such as anger or surprise, but this is another part of the story)

　　

The next step is to draw the high light on the iris, the position and the drawing as described above, but the light in the eye itself is much smaller and more rounded. Then we draw double eyelid on the top of our eyes.

　　

Draw eyebrows and shadows in the remaining parts of the iris. Remember to draw the pupil under the high light, and no matter how dark you draw the other parts of the eye, the pupil is slightly more prominent.

　　

You can use the same method to draw these different styles of female eyes. Try to see the difference in each style, but it's all the same. Although the shape and proportions have changed, the highest edge of the eye is always thicker; the eye is always painted with layers of shadows, and so on. Although some of these are indeed sketches, it seems a bit messy, but hopefully this will still help.
