Dual Switch stacking operations

First, the basic requirements:

iOS version to be consistent, dedicated stacking module and stacking cable, maximum stack count 9

Second, the advantages of stacking:

High-density ports, easy to manage

Third, stacking instances:

1 : Clear the configuration of the two switches separately.

2 : Physically connected to the stacking cable, the connection method is Master's stack1 connected to the slave stack2 above.

3 : Open master, do not make any configuration. And so on after the full boot.

4 : Open the slave machine.

7 : Configure the switch: Use TFTP mode to import the configuration files backed up by the same device. or manually configured.

Common commands:

Restart a switch: Reload slot <1-9>

If you want to modify the number of the two switches, you can use the following command, restart after the effective:

switch (config) #switch 1 Renumber 3 change the number of switch 1 to 3

Switch failure handling:

slave Switch Failure:

1. power down the failed slave switch and unplug the stacking line.

2. Find a switch of the same model, the same iOS, and replace it.

3. plug in the stacking line and switch on the power supply.

4. The slave switch automatically synchronizes the configuration file from the master switch when the boot is complete.

5. use commands such as show switch/showrunning-config to view the switch information.

Master Switch Failure:

1. Backup Switch Configuration

2. re-stack the new master switch and the original slave switch.

3. Import the configuration file

4. Check the operating status
