Cisco PT Simulation Experiment (5) port aggregation configuration for switches
Experimental Purpose :
Understanding Port Aggregation Fundamentals
Master the configuration method of general switch port aggregation
Experimental Background : The company's finance department and the sales department of the PC through 2 switches to communicate frequently, in order to improve the bandwidth between links, to ensure the reliability of network communications, while providing link redundancy, to avoid link single point failure, thereby affecting the key nodes of the large area of the network, you can consider using port aggregation technology to achieve.
Technical Principle :
Port/ link aggregation, which is the bundling of multiple physical ports on a switch into a logical port (called aggregate port), so that a large broadband link (etherchannel) is formed between the switches, and load balancing is also possible. and provides redundant links.
increase the link bandwidth, when there are multiple redundant links between the switches, because of the reason of spanning tree, the actual bandwidth still has only one physical link bandwidth, it is easy to form network bottleneck. With port aggregation, the bandwidth of a single logical link is the sum of all physical links.
Support load balancing, according to the message of the MAC address, IP address and other characteristics of the traffic evenly distributed to the member link, to avoid the single link flow saturation.
Provides a link backup that, when a member link disconnects, the traffic for that member link is automatically assigned to the other active member links.
Prevent network loops, broadcast or multiple broadcasts received by a member link in the AP, will not be forwarded to other member links.
of the aggregation port and the aggregation function needs to be configured at both ends of the link to take effect.
Experimental Equipment : switch_2960 2 units, PC 4, straight line, crossover line.

Port aggregation is the main application of the occasion:
-
The connection between the switch and the switch: The aggregation layer switch to the core layer switch or the core layer switch.
-
The connection between the switch and the server: the cluster server provides centralized access with multiple network adapters and switch connections.
-
The connection between the switch and the router: the switch and router use port aggregation to solve the WAN and LAN connection bottlenecks.
-
connection between server and router: The cluster server provides centralized access with multiple network cards and router connections.
