Basic information of the network
The network topology is: The central switch uses Cisco Catalyst 4006-s3,supervisor Engine III G engine in the 1th slot, for three-layer exchange, 1 24-Port 1000base-t module in the 2nd slot, for connecting to the network server; The 1 Block 6 Port 1000base-x module is located in the 3rd slot for connecting 6 backbone switches. One switch uses Cisco Catalyst 3550-24-emi and installs 1 1000base-x gbic Gigabit modules. A switch uses Cisco Catalyst 3550-24-SMI and also installs 1 1000base-x gbic Gigabit modules. The other four switches use Cisco Catalyst 2950g-24-smi to install 1 1000base-t gbic Gigabit modules. All servers are divided into one VLAN, VLAN 50. The four Catalyst 2950g-24-smi switches are also divided into one VLAN, VLAN 60, VLAN 70, VLAN 80, and VLAN 90 respectively.
The Catalyst 3550-24-emi is divided into 4 VLANs, VLAN 10, VLAN 20, VLAN 30, and VLAN 40 respectively. The Catalyst 3550-24-smi is divided into 2 VLANs, VLAN 60 and VLAN 80, and the other two Catalyst 2950g-24-smi switches are located on the same VLAN respectively.
Example analysis
Since all Catalyst 2950G switches are a stand-alone VLAN, you must first create a VLAN (VLAN 60~vlan 90) on these switches and assign all ports to that VLAN. Then, create the VLAN separately on the corresponding port on the Catalyst 4006 switch. The 1000base-x port of Catalyst 4006 is connected to the 1000base-x port of each Catalyst 2950G respectively. which
The GIGABITETHERNET3/2 port is connected to the number 1th Catalyst 2950 switch (VLAN), and the GIGABITETHERNET3/3 port is connected to the 2nd Catalyst 2950 switch (VLAN 70), The GIGABITETHERNET3/4 port is connected to the number 3rd Catalyst 2950 switch (VLAN) and the GIGABITETHERNET3/5 port is connected to the 4th Catalyst 2950 switch (VLAN 90), The GIGABITETHERNET3/6 port is connected to the 6th floor switch (VLAN 80). Since there are 4 VLANs (VLAN 10~vlan 40) on the Catalyst 3550-24-emi, 4 VLANs need to be implemented with a 1000base-x link and catalyst 4006 gigabitethernet3/ 1 port connection, you must create a trunk between Catalyst 4006 and Catalyst 3550-24-emi.
Similarly, there are 2 VLANs (VLAN 60 and VLAN 80) on the Catalyst 3550-24-smi, and 4 VLANs need to be implemented with a 1000base-x link and catalyst 4006 gigabitethernet3/ 6 port connection, you must create a trunk between Catalyst 4006 and Catalyst 3550-24-emi.
In addition, all servers are connected to the Catalyst 4006 1000base-t module and become a separate VLAN (VLAN 90), so you must also create a VLAN for these switches and assign all ports to that VLAN. It should be noted that, given the need for network management, several RJ-45 ports (such as 21 to 24 ports) can be left unspecified to any VLAN, making it easier to connect to network management devices. By default, all ports belong to VLAN1, and only in VLAN1 can the management of all devices in the network be implemented.
