CitrixVDI4. Configure the physical template Machine
This article describes how to install XP on a physical machine so as to become the operating system in the virtual desktop allocated to the PVS after the client connects to the PVS using the Connection Tool.
If you need software in the virtual desktop, install various software on the physical machine. CC will introduce how to make it a system in the virtual desktop!
Note: XP is a virtual machine created on the xen server!
I will not describe how to install XP. The XP client uses DHCP to allocate IP addresses. In this way, the virtual desktop also uses DHCP to allocate IP addresses.
This article includes installing target and configuring connection target.
1. Install target drive on the XP Physical Machine
Click Install target drvice for 32bit platform on the PVS disc. We will install the target driver for the 32-bit XP Virtual Machine.
Click Next.
Drag the Protocol bar to the bottom and agree to the protocol for next operation
User Information
Confirm installation address
Click Install to start installation.
Click finsh.
System reboot required
During the restart, we set the network startup for the Virtual Machine in xen.
Media not found when started for the first time
At this time, the system will find that the target is not properly connected to the disk on the PVS!
So we need to right-click collection on the PVS console and refresh it! Then we can see that a vdisk0009 or another sub-disk is generated for our XP machine such as 192.168.0.242 Based on the vdisk template, but there is no green check above, the green check mark is available only when the connection is normal!
Right-click the sub-disk vdisk0009 and choose Properties to set properties.
Set boot from to hard disk! Click OK,
Why do we need to set this because the disk does not have a system at this time, and the boot display from this disk will fail to start because the OS cannot be found, but we do not set to start from the network and load smoothly, after entering the system, the target will be unable to connect to vdisk0009!
After the restart, We will directly go to the XP system and there will be no error messages.
If the menu appears, select 2. stor to start.
It also starts to XP, but it can start from the network now!
After starting, click the target connection icon in the tray area. Check whether the status is active, that is, OK, and whether the disk mode is PVS rather than stand,
Then we can see that my computer has an extra disk E or another drive letter. The size is the size of stor!
