XenServer6.5, SQLSERVER2008R2, XenDesktop7.6, Remote Desktop, and app host are all configured to start testing and finding and resolving problems.

First, test Remote Desktop

Once you have documented how to use Citrix Receiver, after Citrix receiver has added a Citrix storefront address, log in with a domain user to display the desktop and application for the XD server configuration delivery.

It can also be accessed via web-based sub-mode: Http://xd.citrix.com/citrix/storeweb

domain user login must add domain name: [email protected]

After clicking on the Remote Desktop server icon delivered to the user, the remote Desktop is maximized, the effect is very good, and the difference between the local and the machine is very small. Includes redirection of printers and local ports, and subsequent detailed testing of printers and USB interfaces.

Second, the test app

focus on testing the Remote Desktop using the app, as long as the test is on the PC or thin client, directly open the app is no problem.

Test User Login to Citrix StoreFront, as with the browser or Citrix receiver effect, if using Citrix Receiver, since the delivery Group is configured with the issued Citrix Storefront server address, so you will be prompted to enter the account password, operating terminal for thin client or PC.

In the lab environment, Remote Desktop and app servers are separate because the ERP,CAD can be made into a separate physical server and delivered to the user via XD.

[Email protected] Login XD.citrix.xom Citrix StoreFront, connect to Remote Desktop ica2008r2;

in ica2008r2, still use [email protected] Login Citrix StoreFront, open an app, such as CAD;

If on the ICA2008R2 desktop, there is a CAD drawing, open the CAD software (on the app server) to import this drawing from the ICA2008R2 desktop view, because Ica2008r2 and the app is a different server, so the CAD Open Explorer directory, is on the app server, not on the ICA2008R2, you will not see the drawings on the ICA2008R2 desktop, you must specify to ICA2008R2 server drive redirection to the app server C:\user\user.citrix.com\desktop Directory to open, so not only experience poor, but also consider that there may be more than one Remote Desktop server, the user to protect the presence of server A, server a failure, Server B can not see the user saved data, regardless of storage, the user configuration file roaming to solve! This would require Citrix's user profile, Management, UPM.

Third, UPM

UPM is similar to Windows Group Policy, a domain environment, which enables user profile roaming, but the benefit of UPM is that it can be targeted at delivery groups, etc., and does not conflict with existing domain environment Group policies.

To save the user profile, a shared host is required, and in my lab environment, a shared server is provided separately. Configure the shared directory to configure read/write permissions for Everyone (security policy can be adjusted according to your environment).

File server:

File.citrix.com

IP address 172.18.254.248 mask 255.255.0.0 getway 172.18.255.254

Shared path:

\\172.18.254.248\upm\

To configure UPM:

1, open the XD Citrix Sudio Console, (this console true card of half-dead, do not know what method not)

Tree menu--citrix sudio--strategy;

Right-hand menu-Create a policy, locate the following items, and configure them:

2. User Store Path:\\172.18.254.248\UPM\ #SAMAccountName #

Local profile conflict handling: Deleting local configuration files

Template profile As a Citrix mandatory profile for all logins: Enabled

Active Writeback: Enabled

In addition, all user folders, such as "Appdate", "Download", are all set to redirect to the following UNC path

The corresponding UNC path is:\\172.18.254.248\upm\%username%\upm_profile\*

If it is appdate, then * is appdate, if it is "desktop", then * is desktop, you can view the name of the existing user folder.

3. Policy Assignment

Can be allocated according to delivery groups, delivery group types, OUs, client IP addresses, and so on, and can be combined.

4. Named policy name, click Finish

5, the right Operation menu-select-higher priority; Move this policy priority to the default policy.

Export this policy as a template, import this policy template on the app server, and create a new policy with the template.

This way, the Remote Desktop opens the app, and you can see the same "desktop", "My Documents" and so on, and sync in real time. For example, a new Word document is created on the Remote Desktop, and the app's desktop is immediately visible. In the same way, if more than one Remote Desktop server as a machine catalog and delivery, then regardless of the user assigned to which server, see the interface and user settings are the same, the implementation of user profile roaming.

However, in the desktop to save large files, it takes some time to complete upload to the file server, such as the desktop to save a win7 system installation image, choose to log off, the system will be completed after the image upload, the logout operation.

Problems encountered:

1, before the deployment of UPM, log on to the Remote Desktop, Windows Server will be created in the C-Drive user folder to save a user profile folder, after the configuration of UPM issued by the user into the Remote desktop, will be prompted to use a temporary profile, which indicates that UPM roaming does not take effect, Local profile conflict handling: Delete The local profile, this policy does not work, the first time, the configuration of the migration policy is not effective, for unknown reasons, to view the Windows log, only prompts to delete the local configuration file.

Workaround: Use the Windows RDP Hyper-pipe to enter the Remote Desktop server, remove the user folder in addition to the hyper-pipe, and then log in to the Remote Desktop again with Citrix storefront. The user folder is also generated under shared server 172.18.254.248\UPM.
