Clone XP + SP2 perfectly with ghost

It takes at least two hours to install Windows XP (with the latest patch SP2) and the most basic application software. Then, a gho file can make the computer install the new system quickly and completely. This is what we want to talk about today.

Generally, ghost cloning is used only for system backup on the local machine. If you directly restore the cloned image file of Windows XP to another computer, it cannot be used normally. So how can we solve this problem?

We can completely install Windows XP and application software for a computer (master. Then encapsulate the parent machine with a tool and manually clear the hardware driver of the parent machine.Program. Then, use ghost to make the C drive of the master machine into an image file, and then use the gho image file to directly install Windows XP on other computers.

I. Optimization of clone Systems

In order to make the cloned gho image file smaller, we must first optimize the system.

1. Move the page file to another partition. Right-click my computer and select "Settings"> "advanced" under "Properties> performance ". The default page file is located in the system partition (usually drive C ). Move it to another partition.

2. Disable the sleep function under "Power Management. Right-click the blank area on the desktop and select "Properties> Screen Saver> power> sleep" to cancel the hook before "enable sleep.

3. Delete the standby dynamic link library file. Enter cmd under "run" to open the Command Prompt window, and enter the following command:

SFC/purgecache

Ii. Uninstall hardware information

The purpose of this operation is to clone an image file without the parent hardware information. In this way, when the gho file is used to restore other computers, the system can automatically retrieve the hardware configuration information of the corresponding computer.

1. unmount the network adapter, Universal Serial Bus Controller, sound card, video game controller, monitor, and video card in the Device Manager.

After detaching some hardware devices, the computer will require a restart. At this time, make sure to select "no" to prevent the computer from restarting. The system can be restarted only after cloning with ghost. Otherwise, everything we do will be decommissioned.

2. Change the "ACPI uniprocessor PC" attribute of "computer" to "standard PC ".

Click Device Manager> Computer> ACPI uniprocessor PC ". Manually change the driver and select "standard PC" from the list ". After the change, the computer cannot be restarted.

3. Change "Intel (r) 82801ba bus master ide controller" under "Ide controller" to "standard dual-channel PCI ide controller ".
Iii. Run the installation Manager

In the double-hit tool package, click "Next" on the welcome page that appears. There are many steps here. See table 1 for the steps and operations to be performed.

After completing the operations, the installation manager automatically creates a directory named sysprep in the system partition (disk C by default.

In the double-hit tool package, select sysprep.exe under "options", "use minimal installation", and "restart" in "shutdown mode" (see figure ). After setting the two items, click "re-encapsulate" and the computer restarts.

Tip:1. Do not click "Factory" or "Review" at will, because if you click "Factory", the computer will take effect in "shutdown mode" and it will be too late to regret it.

2. When the computer restarts, do not enable it from the hard disk. Modify the BIOS settings in time so that the computer can be started from a floppy disk or CD to dos.

Iv. Generating and installing image files

In dos, ghost is used to make the content of drive C of the master machine into a gho image file. Because the file size is large, you can save the image file on the hard disk or make it into a DVD. After the image file is completed, let the master machine start from the hard disk. During the startup process, it will automatically retrieve the hardware driver of the local machine.

Install the gho file on another computer and enable it to start from the hard disk. The computer will automatically install all the hardware drivers. The computer will be ready for use in just 20 minutes.
