Business Intelligence (Bi,business Intelligence) is a process of discovering potential, novel, and useful knowledge from a vast amount of data to support the organization's business operations and management decisions, with massive amounts of data being the basis for business intelligence services. The storage and processing of these data occupies a high position in business intelligence.
1. Introduction
Cloud computing system is a large number of low-cost computing units through the IP network connected to a very large computing platform, the core of which is composed of cloud computing platform and management software.
If you look at cloud computing at the enterprise business intelligence level, it is an infrastructure that provides the metadata data layer and the support process in its entirety. Based on cloud computing technology and business Intelligence system, this paper presents a framework of real-time business intelligence system based on cloud computing, and analyzes and illustrates the whole framework.
2. Real-time Business intelligence
Business intelligence is defined as:
A series of data collection and information conversion operations of business activities, through continuous process, collocation technology for measurement, management and monitoring, can be easily analyzed, integrated operations and strategy of quantitative information applications, real-time and interactive assessment of the enterprise's key metrics, and then find the potential problems or opportunities facing the enterprise, To enable users to use a large number of complete information, cross-analysis and understanding of the trends, to help enterprises to develop the best strategic themes and strategic objectives of a decision-making support tools.
With the increasing complexity of market competition, the demand for "business intelligence anytime and anywhere" is becoming increasingly strong, and the real-time responsiveness of modern business intelligence systems is increasing. Real-time Business intelligence is the provision of traditional business intelligence systems with the same functionality, the ability to extract data from the business data source, and the action of decision-making should be carried out in real time back to the business execution layer, the process of carrying out the enterprise operation information without delay.
Real-time business intelligence system mainly solves the following three aspects of real-time problems:
1) Data extraction, conversion, loading, integration process real-time problems,
2) analyze the data to generate real-time problem of decision support;
3) Implement the real-time problem of decision support.
3. Cloud computing delivery and deployment model
Cloud computing is an Internet-based computing method in which shared hardware and software resources and information can be provided on demand to computers and other devices. As an emerging computing model, cloud computing is able to deliver a wide variety of IT resources and functions to the user through the web in a service-based manner.
Three types of delivery models for cloud computing:
1) Software as a service (SaaS): A user can use an application, but cannot control the operating system hardware or network infrastructure that runs the program.
2) Platform as a service (PaaS): Users use managed environments for their applications. Users can control the applications running in the environment, but cannot control the operating system hardware or network infrastructure that runs the application.
3) Infrastructure as a service (IaaS): Users can use "basic computing resources" such as processing power, storage, network parts, or middleware.
Three types of deployment models for cloud computing:
1) Public cloud: public cloud services refers to cloud computing services that users obtain from third-party vendors over the Internet. A service provider typically sets up an access control mechanism for the user and charges a low fee and possibly even free of charge.
Public Cloud provides a flexible, cost-effective deployment solution.
2) Private cloud: A private cloud is a cloud infrastructure that is owned and leased by a single enterprise, and runs only for that enterprise, and the private cloud provides better cloud infrastructure control for suppliers and users, while improving security and resilience.
3) Hybrid Cloud: Hybrid cloud is the convergence of public and private clouds.
4. The framework of real-time business intelligence based on cloud computing
Every time the transformation of computer technology will bring new development to business intelligence, the characteristics of cloud computing technology will make the combination of business intelligence and cloud computing become inevitable. Based on the previous discussion of cloud computing and business intelligence, this paper presents the following cloud-based real-time Business Intelligence framework diagram, as shown in.
Figure Cloud-based real-time Business intelligence framework
In the system, the enterprise's various business operating systems are deployed on the enterprise's private cloud in the SaaS mode, and the workloads are packaged and transferred to idle or under-utilized systems through virtualization technology, which can delay or avoid the purchase of additional server capacity. The concrete process of the framework is: After the data is generated by the business system or imported from the enterprise, after the enterprise internal private cloud platform is integrated and processed into canonical format, it is extracted by real-time ETL into the real-time data warehouse.
When the real-time data warehouse detects that the data is updated, the data is submitted to the real-time analysis tools, and the results are communicated to the desktop or handheld devices of the business intelligence system users.
5. Conclusion
Real-time business intelligence is the trend of future business intelligence, and cloud-based real-time business intelligence can reduce its costs while improving the ability of business intelligence systems to handle massive amounts of data and real-time performance.
SaaS provides services that are autonomous, on-demand selectivity, and that business intelligence systems will rely less on enterprise IT departments, which will also extend the scope of business intelligence systems in the enterprise.
The new characteristics of business intelligence under cloud computing will revolutionize the enterprise, which will greatly improve the core competitiveness of enterprises, and even promote the transformation of the entire business model, which will be an irreversible trend.
