The contents of the speakers at the conference were uneven, good or bad.
Sometimes I personally think it is better to hear how the engineers at each booth do it.
I personally feel that csdn really has no money. If you don't have any money, you should not fight with fat people. Send a sandwich at noon. It is better not to make a meal roll, or write your own lunch or go to Chengdu snacks outside to buy your own meals. I really don't know what the purpose is. I just sent a beautiful bag and it was just a little bit delicious. I thought it was a pre-lunch meal, and then I really believed it was lunch.
It is said that the first lunch is also a sandwich, but people don't need money! In addition, you can go to the first and second days without a ticket. It would be better to leave the money to us in the lab.
I found that many people have the same questions as me. I have answered some of them, and I am still thinking about them:
1. Is the increase in server utilization actually exploited? Is the utilization rate used for virtualization or for real services? VMware engineers say that only 5% of resources are consumed on Virtualization. This 5% does not linearly increase with the increase of virtual machines. Of course, I still don't believe it ......
2. When two virtual machines run on the same machine, there is a fair elasticity mechanism (I use them when you don't use them, you use them when I don't use them, and you and I use them for half a minute ), that is, the balloom technology. As for the technology, we need to study it. But we can see the memory balloom from XCP and don't know if it is the same.
3. When an application consumes a large amount of resourcesProgramIf it is difficult to run on a physical server, do not seek cloud computing.
4. The program must have concurrency. If the cloud computing platform can shield the impact of Process Communication from distributed physical machines, multi-process programming is necessary. If cloud computing can only migrate threads to other physical machines, it would be better, but I know that is a fantasy.
5. If my physical machines are only two cores, then I will not virtualize the four cores.
6. Can a virtual machine use the storage resources (hard disks) of another physical machine )? At that time, the engineer said yes. Is that because the physical machine has enabled another VM instance, or is it not enabled?
7. Chinacache said that xen is better than VMware because xen is an OS-layer virtualization. VMWare said that VMware is the best because VMware is stable. In fact, VMWare also has its own OS virtualization technology.
8. MySQL is three times more efficient than EC2 in chinacache. Because it is a local storage in a machine, EC2 can be seen as using a storage network, so EC2 will consume line transmission bandwidth. I personally think chinacache cannot be expanded in a large number. Otherwise, the performance will be reduced to the EC2 level.
9. If too many VMS on one physical machine consume resources together, and some blowout services cannot respond, these services will be migrated to other machines. But its monitor cannot respond. How does it know which business is a blowout service?
10. Don't ask the senior manager for further meetings. What is the concept of server? For advanced stable machines, we have two servers in the lab. If any PC can be used as a server, there will be 4 servers under my control ~ Five. I think there is no concept of uniform servers in the industry.
11. Big cloud is actually doing mapreduce-based data mining.Algorithm......
12. China Mobile said that it can now support 5000 servers, which is Yahoo's hadoop. In fact, I don't believe that he has so many machines. (What is his server concept ?)
