When you insert a picture in a Word2007 document, if the picture is large in size, the file size of the Word document becomes large. Even if you change the size of a picture in a Word document or crop a picture, the size of the picture does not change. However, users can compress all pictures or selected pictures in a Word document, which can effectively reduce the size of the picture and also effectively reduce the size of the word file. To compress a picture in a Word2007 document, the following steps are described:
Step 1th, open the Word2007 document window and select the picture you want to compress. If you have more than one picture that you want to compress, you can click multiple pictures while holding down the CTRL key.
Step 2nd, open the Picture Tools Ribbon, and click the Compress Picture button in the adjustments group on the Format tab, as shown in Figure 2009022601.

Step 3rd, open the Compress Picture dialog box, select the Apply to selected pictures only check box, and click OK to compress the pictures in the Word document, as shown in Figure 2009022602.
