The operating system does not recognize the sound card what's going on?
The basic function of a sound card is to convert the original sound signals from microphones, tapes, and discs to sound devices such as headphones, speakers, amplifiers, recorders, or to make a musical instrument sound through a musical device Digital interface (MIDI).
Now let's see why the sound card doesn't work.
This type of problem is due to the fact that the sound card is not installed, or that the sound card does not support Plug and Play, and that the driver is too old to support the new operating system. You can do this in the following ways:
1, reinstall the sound card
The first step is to disconnect the power supply, open the chassis and unplug the sound card from the motherboard.
Second, clean the golden finger of the sound card and reseat the sound card back to the motherboard (slot insertion).
The third step, the Power-on check system has found the sound card.
2. Add the sound card manually
In the first step, select start → settings → control Panel and double-click the Add New hardware item in the Control Panel window.
In the second step, in the Add New Hardware Wizard, you are asked if you want to automatically detect and configure new hardware, select No, and then click Next, and Windows lists all the hardware devices that you can choose to install.
In the third step, select the sound, video and game controllers option in the hardware type and click Next to enter the path selection interface.
Step Fourth, click the "Install from Disk" button, select the path where the driver is located, and install the sound card driver.
If the above method does not allow your sound card to return to normal, delete the item that was hit with a fork or exclamation point again into method three.
3, update the driver
To search the Internet for the latest driver of the sound card, if not, use the same model or the sound chip of the same sound card driver to replace.
By doing this, your sound card should be able to be recognized by the operating system.
