Lab Objectives

Create two new virtual machines, one of which is Windows Server 2008 R2 and the other is Windows 7. Configure IP addresses for the two virtual machines and Ping each other.

Lab Environment

Create two new virtual machines, one of which is Windows Server 2008 R2,

IP Address: 192.168.1.1

One is window 7 IP Address: 192.168.1.2

Lab procedure

1. Configure the IP address of Windows Server 2008 r2

Start-control panel-network and sharing center-click "Change adapter Settings"-Right-click "Local Connection"-properties-

For example:

1. Disable the Firewall

Start-control panel-Windows Firewall-click "enable or disable firewall"-Disable Firewall

Problem and experiment Summary

In Windows Server 2008 and Windows 7 initialization operations, the firewall is enabled by default. The two virtual machines cannot be pinged and the firewall must be disabled.
