Configure Ubuntu16.04 No. 03 step: Install Sogou Input Method

1. Go to Sogou website:  https://pinyin.sogou.com/linux/ , download Sogou Input Method installation package

2. Install the Deb package using the dpkg command:

sudo dpkg-i sogoupinyin_2.0.2.0102_amd64.deb

2.1 problems occurred

Selecting Sogoupinyin package is not selected .

2.2 Fix dependency:sudo apt install-f

2.3 re-install sudo dpkg-i sogoupinyin_2.0.2.0102_amd64.deb

3. system settings ----> language Support, display upgrade updates, click OK, download updates, and set the keyboard input system to Fcitx. When you do this step, if the FCITX option is not present , your machine also needs to have the fcitx Keyboard input system installed.

3.1 installation FCITX Keyboard Input Method System

Sogou is based on Fcitx , and the system default keyboard input Method system is IBus. ubuntu 16.04 default is with fcitx , normal installation, if any, there is no need to install ; but some versions of Ubuntu, You need to install fcitxyourselfin order to install using Sogou.

3.1.1 Add the following source : sudo add-apt-repository ppa:fcitx-team/nightly

3.1.2 update system:sudo apt-get update

3.1.3 installation fcitx:sudo apt-get install FCITX

3.1.4 Installing the FCITX Configuration tool :sudo apt-get install FCITX-CONFIG-GTK

3.1.5 Installing the FCITX table-all package: sudo apt-get install Fcitx-table-all

3.1.6 Installing the im-switch switch tool :sudo apt-get install Im-switch

at this point, The fcitx Keyboard Input Method system is installed. Step 5,6 need to press "Y" to confirm the installation. The simple test method is to type "FCITX" in the terminal, there are various hints on the right.
