Computers are cheap, and Internet access is convenient. Is it because my family members are fighting for computers? Internet sharing is a good solution, but it costs a lot of money to either have a vswitch with the routing function or to go to the access provider for multi-host internet access. Is there a cheap and convenient LAN connection method? Of course!

We don't need a hub. We only need to use a single NIC (if we use the old Nic, we don't need to spend any money), which is exactly consistent with the spirit of diyer. The procedure is as follows.

1. use a better machine as the host and install two NICs on it (the author uses the rtl8139 10 M/M Adaptive Nic of "ruiyun ), after the Windows XP operating system is installed on the machine, the following two Nic attributes are displayed under the "Network Neighbor" attribute: "Local Connection 2 network cable is pulled out RealTek rtl8139 family PCI Fast Ethernet NIC" and "local connection 3 network cable is pulled out RealTek rtl8139 family PCI Fast Ethernet NIC #2 ".

Insert the twisted pair crystal head of the Internet to the NIC connected to local 2. Then, the NIC's "network cable pulled out" is changed to "enabled ", configure according to the "ip" address provided by the network service provider to enable normal internet access. The NIC connected to "local connection 3" does not need to be configured.

2. Use another machine as the client, install a NIC on it, install the Windows 98 operating system, and configure the NIC according to the IP address of the host.

3. Create a dual-host interconnection line, that is, the "crossover line ". This step is very critical. The ends of the twisted pair wires should be made separately according to the "t568a" and "t568b" standards. During the production, the plastic shrapnel of the crystal head should be lowered, and the metal flat should be pushed forward and arranged from left to right, the line sequence of "t568a" is as follows:

Insert the "cross-line" end to the "local connection 3" Nic socket of the host, and the other end to the NIC socket of the client.

4. on the host desktop, right-click "Network Neighbor" and choose "properties" from the shortcut menu. In the displayed "network connection" window, press and hold the "Ctrl" key, right-click the two NICs icon and select the two NICs. Press and hold the "Ctrl" key, right-click the shortcut menu, and click the "bridge" option in the shortcut menu. The system prompts "Windows is bridging, please wait ......" The "Mac bridge micro port" icon appears later, indicating that the bridge has been connected successfully.

After completing the preceding steps, the two machines can access the Internet at the same time without interfering with each other. Note that the client accesses the Internet through the "bridge" function provided by the Windows XP operating system of the host, therefore, the premise for the client to access the Internet is to make the host in the boot state.

The above method is to connect two machines to access the Internet with three NICs. As long as you have enough slots in your host, you can connect more machines to access the Internet at the same time, the author uses four discarded NICs to connect three machines to access the Internet, which saves both the Internet cost and resources (and also saves the soft drive, optical drive, and USB drive of the two clients ), a family of three connected to the Internet at the same time without mutual interference.
