If the selected controls may overlap after alignment, Microsoft Access does not overlap them, and the edges of those controls are arranged adjacent to each other.

When right-aligned, because control 3 and control 1 overlap, the system automatically arranges the edges of these 2 controls adjacent to each other

After the top alignment, because control 1, control 2, and control 4 overlap, the system automatically arranges the edges of the 3 controls adjacent
