The characteristics of 1 access network and access network network management
The Access Network (an) refers to the entity network between the user network interface (UNI) and the Service Node interface (SNI) to deliver the carrying function. The features of the Access network management system are:
(1) Access network technology is complex and diverse, requiring access to the management system comprehensive function. Access network is to date a variety of technical integration of the largest network, such as the access to the Wind system DLC, PON, FWA, ADSL, HFC, as well as Apon, VDSL, Ethernet/lan access.
(2) Access network is a change of network, to ensure the sustainable construction of access networks, the adaptability of network management system is very high. On the one hand, access to the network itself in the development of new technologies and accessing the way is still emerging; on the other hand, the range of capacity series, the range of access bandwidth, the scope of geographic coverage, the type of access service and the requirements of environment are all dynamic changes.
(3) strong user sensitivity. Because the access network is direct to the user, and the user is sensitive to the service quality, one of the important functions of network management is to guarantee the quality of the service, so the real-time and effective requirements of the access net are higher.
(4) Access network management must be multiple vendors, multiple systems/equipment environment Integrated management.
(5) Cost input is the core problem of access network, network management is no exception, in today's competitive situation more important, so access network management system should be the establishment of advanced technology, high level but low cost.
2 Existing problems of network management in Access network
At present, the maintenance and management of docking network in China is still mainly rely on the network management system of each manufacturer, each manufacturer's managerial system and its functions are difficult to be compatible or interoperable, can not be unified management, managers need to manage each subnet through different operating systems, If there is information interaction between access network management and other management systems, it is basically done manually by the operator. The difficulty of access network is a major problem in the development of accessing networks. The reason is that the access network and its management complexity, but also with the network management standards and development of the application of some problems.
(1) The establishment of network management standards is difficult to meet the needs of development and application
From the perspective of global communication development, the late 90 is the active period of access network technology development and application. With the rapid development of the new technology of access network, the function items needing to be managed are becoming more and more complicated, but the development of management function and interface standard often lags behind these technologies, so that the development of the Access network network management can not be followed. In the domestic enterprises that have been developed in the relevant access network, limited to the conditions at that time, mainly only in accordance with the ITU-T existing document preparation management norms, not completely, can not meet the needs of development and application, but also can not meet the needs of operation and maintenance.
(2) Interconnection interoperability problem under multi-vendor equipment
According to the past management mode, to achieve the interconnection, interoperability and interoperability of different manufacturers of equipment to meet the four levels of consistency, these four levels are gradually dependent on the relationship. First, the consistency of communication protocols is the basis of all consistency, only communication protocol is consistent, can realize "interconnection", under the premise of consistency of communication protocol, but also to meet the consistency of management information model, management information model to maintain consistency, in order to achieve "interoperability"; under the premise of consistency of management information model, It also satisfies the management functionality and the consistency of the management business, and only the management function and the business meet the consistency to achieve interoperability.
Now many telecom companies have launched access network products and their operation management system, but the access network of different manufacturers still difficult to achieve unified network management, this is precisely because they can only meet a level or a number of levels of consistency, rather than complete consistency. The formation of access network vendors claim to have a standard Q3 interface and running enterprises can not achieve unified network management embarrassing situation.
(3) Technical difficulty, strong hardware and software dependence, long development cycle, high development costs
In order to provide Q3 interface, vendors need to purchase Q3 interface protocol stack, even the manager and agent development platform, these expensive configuration naturally increased development costs. Q3 interface protocol Stack is a few foreign companies to provide special software, the choice of small, for the hardware platform requirements high, hardware and software dependencies strong. At the same time, because of the complexity of Q3 interface technology, high demand for developers, long development cycle, but also improve the development costs. Higher development costs must lead to higher operating costs, so it is not conducive to access network in China's construction and development.
Because the existing TMN management system is based on the telecommunication network technology and application in the early 80, the target is too ideal, the abstraction is too high, the standardization process of information model is too slow, and the efficiency of the OSI stack protocol is not high. Therefore, even if the standard has been formulated, but the implementation of difficult, large investment and small results, can not be implemented online, not to achieve the intended purpose. Although ITU-T is aware of this problem, patching is not an easy task, and the traditional Q3 interface is outdated.
3 Access Network management countermeasures
The traditional network management system interface is complex, it needs to be based on the special network management platform, this special platform is expensive, high on network management personnel, personnel training and software update cost, development management application and integration of new technology is high, and restricted by geographical location can only be managed in the fixed room. So people put forward a request, can change the traditional only on the special platform to manage the way? Can you monitor the running state of your network anywhere? Can you browse the state of the equipment like a Web page, and realize the management function through the convenient man-machine interaction?
Web or WWW technology is providing a new idea for the innovation of network management mode, introducing web technology into network management, which can provide users with flexible managing methods. Managers can use Web browsers to access management systems at any time, monitor, configure, and manage their networks. Taking this advantage into account, we have studied the network management mode using Web technology, and put forward a distributed integrated management (iman, integrated MANAGEMT) model based on Intranet/web, that is to make full use of the results of computer network technology, especially web technology, To absorb the advantages of TWN, SNMP, CORBA and other architectures, a distributed, comprehensive and flexible network management system is established to realize the standardized integrated network management system in the environment of multi-vendor access network equipment in a cost-effective way.
4 Iman Architecture
Each management sub-station is an independent management system of each subnet, which can manage one or more network element (NE) subnets through its own management interface or embedded directly in the system/device. The management center connects each management station through the intranet, which is composed of a complete access network integrated management system together with the management sub station. The management center interacts with the management sub station's information with the XML-defined data public interface, both administrative functions and administrative operations are defined in XML. The protocol stack of the XML public interface adopts HTTP/TCP/IP.
In the Iman management system, the management center integrates the management function of each management sub station, the user can use the Web Access Management Center to perform various management operations. This ability of the management Center can guarantee the centralized operation and integrated management for the whole network. The Management Center is also responsible for the internal management of the entire management system, including Web Access operation management, user management, network security monitoring and other functions. Management Center and Web-based Browser management operations are in the Integrated Management sub-layer (IM).
The management sub-station is also located in the distribution management sub-tier (DM), providing management information required by the central Administration and providing unique management capabilities through its Web server. This ability makes the network management and network construction can be synchronized, solve the old management model needs to wait for management information model to standardize the centralized management of the defects.
In the management system of Iman, the network management system is regarded as the computer network of network management application, through the proper normalization, it is easy to realize the interaction between the Administration center and the management sub station by intranet intranet, so as to achieve the goal of integrated management.
Any low-level transport network that is appropriate for the Transport TCP/IP protocol can build an intranet, such as LAN, DDN, ATM, FR, and so on. As the intranet of network management application, it should have the network bandwidth and reliability to meet the requirements of the Transmission administration information. An important reason to adopt an intranet is to ensure its security, as in the case of DCN, which was used by the previous management system.
