Create a local copy of a remote file in Word 2010

When you use Word 2010 to edit a Word document that is stored on a network or removable storage device, if a network or removable storage device fails, you may not be able to save the current Word document to its original location, causing data loss. To prevent such problems, users can enable the ability to create local copies of remote files in Word 2010, save the local copy while saving the Word document to its original location, as described in the following steps:

Step 1th, open the Word 2010 document window, and click the file → options button, as shown in Figure 2012022503.

Step 2nd, open the Word Options dialog box and switch to the Advanced tab. In the Save area, select the copy Remote Storage files to your computer and update the remote files on save check box, and click OK, as shown in Figure 2012022504.
