In Linux, Ctrl-C sends a SIGINT signal to all processes in the foreground process group. It is often used to terminate a runningProgram. CTRL-Z sends the sigtstp signal to all processes in the foreground process group, which is often used to suspend a process. CTRL-D is not a sending signal, but a special binary value, indicating EOF. CTRL-/send a sigquit signal to all processes in the foreground process group, terminate the foreground process, and generate a core file.
