Computers are now playing a more and more important role in our daily life! We have also given more and more things to the computer. Important information, photos, music, programs, etc. crammed into our hard drive, but the computer with a long time will inevitably appear mistakenly delete important documents. Sometimes Windows Recycle Bin can be our regret medicine, but if even the Recycle Bin is emptied or disabled? There are many professional data recovery companies on the market, but the price of data recovery is not affordable for the average user. A lot of information is not important enough to require us to pay so much money to the company to recover. At this time we need to start their own recovery, so also in line with the spirit of DIY! Here I introduce a relatively simple and powerful data recovery software finaldata!

First we open the FinalData main program can see the FinalData window by the menu bar, toolbar, catalog map and Catalog content diagram.

First, open the missing data of the letter

Select File, open in the upper-left corner of the interface, and from the Select Drive dialog box (Figure 1), select the drive where the file you want to recover is located. Here we select "Drive G" and click "OK".

Second, scan the driver

After selecting a good drive, FinalData will immediately begin scanning for files and directories that already exist on the drive (Figure 2). After the scan is complete, a "Select a Lookup Sector range" dialog box appears, and we do not modify it because we do not know where the deleted file is located. Here are the "full scan" and "quick scan" two ways to let us choose, here we choose "Quick Scan" (Figure 3). If you select Full scan FinalData will scan every cluster of hard disk partitions, so the speed will be much slower (Figure 4). The specific differences between the two produce effects are noted later in this article.

In fact, when a file is deleted, only the first character of the file or directory name will be deleted. FinalData searches for deleted files by scanning the subdirectory entry or data area. After the scan completes, the list of deleted files and directories is generated in the catalog diagram and the contents of the catalog.

When the directory scan is complete, seven items appear in the left area of the window, and the directory and file information is displayed in the right window (Figure 5). The meanings of these seven items are as follows:

Figure 5

1, "root directory": normal root directory

2, "deleted directory": A collection of directories removed from the root directory (available only after quick scan)

3, "Deleted Files": A collection of files deleted from the root directory (available only after quick scan)

4, "Lost Directory": Only the "full scan" found after the directory will be displayed here. "Quick Scan" cannot find these directories because they have been partially overwritten or corrupted. If the root directory is corrupted by formatting or viruses, FinalData will put the discovery and recovery information in the lost directory. (Available only after full scan)

5, "Lost Files": Severely damaged files, if the data section is still intact, you can recover from "lost files." After quick scan, FinalData will perform a full scan to find the corrupted file and display the list in lost files. (Available only after full scan)

6, "Recently deleted Files": When FinalData is installed, the File Removal Manager feature automatically adds the deleted file to the recently deleted file. Because FinalData saves the file information on a special hard disk location, most of the time it will be fully recovered (a certain amount of hard disk space is specified for this information when the installer is installed).

7, "Found files": These are all the hard disk deleted files, you can follow the file name, cluster number and date of the scanned files to find.

Find the files to recover

You can use the Find feature if you cannot find the location of the file you want to recover or if you have too many files in the deleted files to find files that need to be recovered. Choose File, find from the menu. The FinalData provides three types of lookups (Figure 6), a search by file name, a cluster lookup, and a date lookup. Here we introduce the most commonly used to find by file name, in the Hint box to enter the file we are looking for the keyword or wildcard characters (Dos times commonly used in the number, *). When you click Find on the right, FinalData will look for existing or deleted target files on the current partition. The files found will appear in the found files item in the left window area (Figure 7).

Iv. Recovery

On the right side of the table of contents to find the file we need to recover after, right-click Select "Restore" appears in the Select Directory Save dialog box. The "FAT" setting on the dialog box is related to the file system. If you are using the Fat16/32 file system, this option is available. If you are using the ntfs4.0/5.0 file system, the entry is not optional. But the specific role of this article is not very clear. When saving files, it is best not to save the data to the root directory. Because when important data is accidentally deleted from the root directory, access to other data greatly reduces the likelihood that these important data will be restored.

In the directory, specify the path where we want to restore the file, and then click the Save button (Figure 9) and do it! At this time we can open "My Computer" to confirm that the data has been restored successfully!
