This occurs in Win2000/XP/2003. Because the NIC device is not detached from the Device Manager, the NIC or the PCI slot of the NIC is changed, as a result, it is "conflicted" with the old Nic information and cannot reset the IP address or connect to the network.

Solution:

1: edit the Registry
Open the Hardware Device Manager and click "View> show hidden devices". The device List displays the old hardware list and opens the "Network Adapter ", right-click the translucent old ENI and choose "detach". Then, click "Operation> scan hardware changes" to restore the original ENI that is not #2. In addition, you can also delete the old Nic model and TCP/IP settings in the registry. 2: Direct Solution
The Win2000 system can also run the "Control Panel> Add/delete hardware wizard" to uninstall the system. The method is as follows:
"Control Panel → Add/delete hardware → detach/unplug devices → detach devices". In the "devices installed on the computer" List window, first recognize the names of existing NICs, otherwise, select "show hidden devices", and select "Next" as the old driver for the new Nic ".
The "Add/delete hardware wizard" is not available in WinXP/2003. copy the cpl file to winXP and double-click it to run the "Add/delete hardware wizard" to uninstall it.

3: doscommand

4: Search for the Registry
For example, your NIC address is 192.168.0.1.
Start Registry Editor to find this IP address. Find one to delete.
