Unit a few years ago purchased a batch of Dell T7500 workstation equipped with win7/rhel5.5 dual system, recently appeared Win7 system disk broken phenomenon, so replace the new disk, first use Win7 Ghost u disk to start the reload system, after loading restore Linux boot menu, the specific operation is as follows:
1, the Linux system disk into the optical drive;
2, restart the system and press F12 select from the CD-ROM boot;
3, under Boot: Enter the Linux rescue carriage return;
4. Under sh#, enter fdisk-l|less carriage return to see the sequence number of the partition where the Win7/linux system is located (that is, the boot tag of the corresponding device has an * number). The machine originally installed Win7 has a hidden Dell utility partition, occupies/dev/sda1, the system is installed on the/DEV/SDA2 partition (from the Linux grub.conf, corresponding Win7 rootnoverify (hd0, 1)), And my newly changed disk Win7 divided two zones, the system is installed on the/DEV/SDA1 (corresponding to the grub.conf on the Rootnoverify (hd0, 0)), and/dev/sda2 as a data partition. The original Win7 does not have the Safe mode option, I can use Ghost to install the system to bring up safe mode.
5. Enter the grub carriage return under sh#;
6, enter root under Grub> (hd1,0), (note: Because the Linux system is installed on the second disk (SDB1), the corresponding is (HD1, 0))
7. Enter setup (hd0) carriage return under grub>. (Here the hd0 is the boot partition (that is, the MBR) where the disk, if the boot on the second hard disk, this is HD1);
8. If all goes well, the following information will appear in the last two lines, which indicates that the boot menu has been restored successfully!
......
Grub/menu.lst "... succeeded
Done.
9, Grub> quit
10, enter reboot in sh#;
11, let the system into the Linux, switch to the root user, vi/etc/grub.conf, the title other in the Rootnoverify (hd0, 1) changed to Rootnoverify (hd0, 0), save and exit;
12, restart the system to the boot menu, then choose Other (that is, Win7) can normally enter the Win7 system.
