DHCP server instance creation (1)

For the configuration of the DHCP server, let's take a detailed look at the example below. One of Mr. Zhang's company's local subnet Saes.grfwgz.com is a marketing department employee. Although there are many employees, in general, only a small number of employees use the network in the organization for a long time, to save IP Address Resources, IP addresses are allocated dynamically through DHCP. The IP address range ranges from 192.168.0.129 ~ 192.168.0.158. The specific configuration method is as follows.

Because the DHCP server configuration can be different, one is to add a new DHCP server, the other is to add a new scope to the existing DHCP server, of course, you can also modify the existing scope. Let's first introduce the former.

Add a new DHCP server

If the DHCP server is not installed on the original server when the domain controller is installed, you can install and configure the DHCP server after the domain controller is installed. It is simple and intuitive to configure the DHCP server in a Windows server system, because it is implemented through a graphical interface, which is the same as that of other servers, so it is easy to understand. This configuration method is also applicable to the DHCP Server configuration of Windows 2000 Server home system.

1) choose Start> Administrative Tools> Manage Your servers. on the desktop menu, open the window shown in 1.

2) Click the "add or delete role" link at the top of the center to open the wizard dialog box 2. In this dialog box, the Wizard shows the required preparation steps.

3) Click "Next" to open the dialog box 3. In this dialog box, the configuration of each role in the current server is displayed. Find the "DHCP server" option and you will see that it is not configured as a DHCP server role.

4) After selecting "DHCP server", click "Next" to open the dialog box 4. In this dialog box, the configuration of the selected server role is summarized. It doesn't make much sense.

5) Click "Next" to open the dialog box 5. This is a process dialog box for installing components on a server. The component Installation Process for installing the DHCP server is displayed.

6) After the component is installed, the new scope wizard is automatically displayed, as shown in figure 6. Click "Next" to open the dialog box 7. In this dialog box, enter a name for the newly created scope.

7) Click "Next" to open the dialog box shown in figure 8. In this dialog box, enter the starting and ending IP addresses of the SALES subnet 192.168.0.129 ~ 192.168.0.158 ). In the following "length" and "subnet mask", set the number of digits used for "network ID" + "subnet ID" and the subnet mask of the subnet IP address. According to the previous configuration introduction, this subnet uses 27 BITs as the network ID/subnet ID, and the subnet mask is too large. Note that these two items are related and not random. If they are configured incorrectly, the system will automatically correct them.
