Next step: select the I/O controller type. The default value is enough.

Next step: specify the size of the new disk, and be sure to split the virtual disk into multiple files. This will automatically increase according to the size of the virtual machine. I will allocate 20 GB

 

Next: Specify the file name that needs to be specified in the previously specified location. The default value is here, because we have previously named the Virtual Machine name.

Click "finish". The virtual machine is created but the operating system is not installed.

 

Return to the main interface and click "CD/DVD (IDE)". In the displayed window, select "use ISO Image File". Here, select the downloaded centos image file.

If you select "OK", the system will check the file integrity and other processes. This will take a long time, so you can skip the process because we know that our image file is correct.

Select the language here. By default, I select English. If you are not used to it, you can select Chinese, but I suggest using English, because it will be English in the future, not Chinese.

 

Select a basic storage device because we have no special requirements.

Enter the host name here. I will write hadoop1 here, because we will use this virtual machine to give lectures later, so I will use hadoop1 directly.

To install centos for linux, you can select the desktop version. After installation, it is very similar to mac OS, but it will occupy more memory. When we learn it, it is all a command line operation, therefore, the interface is not required at all. Select minimal here.

 

Then, initialize some configuration information and start to load the jar package. Then, start to install the linux operating system. It takes several minutes.
