The firewall client of ISA Server can be installed on the client computer protected by Microsoft ISA Server. The firewall client of ISA Server provides enhanced security and applications.ProgramSupports access control for client computers. The firewall client of ISA Server provides authentication for TCP and UDP Winsock applications, supports complex auxiliary protocols, and provides user and application information for ISA server logs.
When a client computer running the ISA Server firewall client sends a request, the firewall client evaluates the target and then directs the external request to the ISA Server for processing. No specific Routing infrastructure is required. The firewall client transparently sends user information for each request, so that you can create a firewall policy on the ISA Server computer that uses the identity authentication credential rules provided by the client. ISA Server allows you to configure automatic discovery for the firewall client computer, and use the WPAD item in DNS or DHCP to obtain the correct client web proxy settings (this setting depends on the client location ).
For more information about the firewall client, see isa server on the Microsoft technet site.
