Sharing principle

In view of the current market mainstream Ethernet interface External ADSL modem has a built-in router, with routing functions, but also built a large capacity ROM chip (including PPP dialer). This built-in dialer allows the modem to automatically enter the dialer after PowerUp. As long as the ISP assigned username and dial-up password into the ADSL built-in ROM chip, and let it save this username and password, ADSL modem can automatically enter the dial. With the built-in routing capabilities, easy to complete the Internet and LAN packet Exchange, the realization of multiple machines sharing the Internet.

The first step: the realization of ADSL modem automatic dialing

First find your ADSL modem's internal IP address, such as 10.0.0.2 (your ADSL instructions are introduced), to connect the modem network card set to the same network segment IP address, such as 10.0.0.3, gateway address set to 10.0.0.2. Directly in the browser address bar input "http://10.0.0.2" can enter the modem settings interface, this will pop up a dialog box, prompted to enter the login username and password (general username is admin, password is 123456, specific reference manual). If the password is incorrect, someone has modified the password in advance. However, it does not matter, in the modem generally have a "reset" reset switch, click on this switch, you can restore the information to the factory state.

The pop-up window is divided into 2 parts, the left for the main column, the right for each column specific settings. Click LAN on the left side of the window to read the IP address and subnet mask (Subnet Mask) and write down the two data, which is the gateway and mask for the LAN. Click "Submit" to submit the data when the setup is complete.

Click Wan on the left side of the window to enter the WAN Configuration Settings dialog box. This is the most critical step in the entire operation. Here, we need to change the PPP transfer Mode "encapsulation" as "PPPoE LLC", and put the user name username and password password written to the ISP for the virtual dialing, Setup completes click "Submit" submitted.

Click DNS on the left side of the window to set the domain name resolution server. My Ns-201lan can automatically get the DNS of the ISP, so there is no need to set up. If the modem does not automatically get it, you can click on the "SYSTEM LOG" option in the left window to see the information, or you can ask your ISP directly.

Click Save Settings on the left side of the window to enter the Save Configuration window. Click "Submit" to submit the above information (remember that each step is submitted to save, set at this time must not power off), the above settings written to the modem rom--Restart modem. Turn on the ADSL power and computer in order, try, do not dial, the computer has been automatically connected to the internet!
