Checkstyle is a project under SourceForge that provides a tool to help Java developers comply with certain coding specifications. It automates the process of code specification checking, freeing developers from this important but tedious task. It can check the code according to the set coding rules. For example, the specification of variable name, method body maximum number of lines, duplicate code check and so on.

Installation steps:
