Ii. importing EMC Backup and recovery virtual machines

One of the EMC Backup and recovery needs to be downloaded from support.emc.com. The 0.5 TB OVA is used here. Select Deploy OVF template from vcenter to specify the template location.

Assign an IP address to the EMC Backup and recovery virtual machine.

Click Finish to begin deploying the OVF virtual machine.

iii. EMC Backup and recovery initialization settings

Turn on the virtual machine power, go to the console, it is prompted to reset the root password, when done, use the browser to access http://ip:8580/ebr-configure/ to initialize the settings. The default password for the root user of the Web interface is 8RttoTriz. Enter the Welcome screen after the popup.

Click Restart Appliance to restart the EBR virtual machine. After the reboot is complete, go to the EBR management interface to view information such as status, storage,Networker configuration, and so on.

Login the Networker console, which verifies the external agent host information, namely EBR.

Iv. connecting EBR from vsphere Web client

Login VMware vSphere Web Client, click " connect " from the home pageto connect to Emcbackup and Recovery.

v. Define a backup Strategy

click on "Assign backup Policy", the default backup strategywill exist , click Edit, select the virtual machine that needs to be backed up.

Click " finish " to save. Then click " Backup now " in the backup bar tostart a backup of the selected virtual machines. After the backup is complete, you will see the backup virtual machine information in the recovery bar.

vi. recovering virtual machines

in the recovery Bar, select the virtual machine that you want to restore, and click recover to start the recovery of thevirtual machine.
