How do I uninstall ESET Security products manually?

KB Solution id:soln2289 | Last modified: April 15, 2010 in an attempt to manually uninstall the ESET security product, the first attempt to use the Install ESET Start Menu Uninstall program with ESET Smart Security 4.x or ESET NOD32 antivirus software 4.x, click here to explain the instructions. If you run the Install ESET Start Menu Uninstall program and you continue to have problems, you cannot reinstall the ESET security product, or if your ESET security product is still active and reboot after uninstall, then uninstall fails. Deleted files from version 4.x products that need to be started in Safe mode and use the Install ESET Uninstall tool. Follow the instructions below to download and use the Install ESET Uninstall tool to manually remove your ESET security product. The following technologies apply to two version 4.x and your version of ESET Security Products, V2 and EMSX (ESET feel secure Microsoft Exchange mail server) 3.0.

Do not attempt to uninstall your ESET security product using Windows Add or Remove Programs from the Control Panel utility.

1.Download Install eset Uninstall application (KB) and save it to the desktop. Click on the button below to start the download.

2.Restart your computer and start in Safe mode. During startup, press the F8 key repeatedly until the advanced option is displayed. Select Safe Mode, and then press the ENTER key. If you try to run the install eset in normal mode uninstall the program, it will fail, creating a "wrong!" Mail the text file on your desktop.

3.Double Click on the icon on the desktop Esetuninstaller start the uninstall process.

Advanced user command: If you would like to see a complete list of ESETUninstaller.exe/help available commands when installing the ESET Uninstall program. If you want to remove ESET security products from the boot media, you will be prompted whether you want to remove the installation eset files from each available partition. In/Off mode = parameter specified CD and USB drive and/mode uninstall mode = Hard drive specified on the online parameter. Very rare, you may need to use this parameter to force the ESET security product files to be deleted if the installation eset uninstall program does not automatically detect your boot media. If you want to remove the AV device without being prompted for all presence, run with/force parameter uninstall program.

4.At The first command prompt, read the warning, and type Y to confirm.

5.Select Install ESET installation you want to remove the number from the list and press ENTER. Typically, the uninstall program will find only one ESET security product that will be installed as a listing number 1th.

6.At at the third command prompt, make sure that you uninstall the correct ESET security product from the correct operating system and type Y for confirmation.
