Excel can't open the solution

Failure phenomenon:

When you double-click a Microsoft Excel file type (. xls), Excel starts normally, but then you receive an error message that is similar to the following: "Cannot find C: file name. xls." Check that the file name is spelled correctly and verify that the file location is correct. If most of the most recently used files in the file list that you are trying to open are on the File menu, make sure that the file is not renamed, moved, or deleted. ”
When you click OK on the error message, the message appears again. When you click OK repeatedly, the file opens.

Reason Analysis:

This behavior occurs if the open action entry for this file type ends with%1.
If the open operation of the file type is edited and the row is restored before you press OK, the registry key for%1 is added.
If you intentionally add% 1 of the open action item for this file type, the registry key adds% 1. If you then remove% 1 from the Open action item, the registry key remains unchanged and must be edited manually.
In addition, this problem can occur when you manually change the. xls file associated with the file, or in some cases, when you are running multiple versions of Excel on the same computer.

Solution:

Click Start, and then click Run.

In the Open box, type regedit, and then click OK.

Click Start , and then click Run .

Open the following registry key: Hkey_classes_rootexcel.sheet.8shellopencommand, as shown in the following illustration:

in the right pane, click (the default value).

in the Edit menu, click Modify .

%1 Deletes the end of the numeric data string so that the data string is as follows:

"C:Program is officeofficeexcel. EXE "/e (including quotes)

Click OK , and then close Registry Editor
