By default, annotations added to Excel, as shown in Figure 1, are a rectangular text box. Do you want to change the look of the annotation? For example, you can change the effect as shown in the image (Figure 2).

The procedure is very simple Oh, the method is as follows: First, select the Insert-annotation command to add a comment to the cell. Then, right-click the cell and select Show/Hide Annotations from the shortcut menu to display the annotation. Make sure the Drawing toolbar appears on the screen. Hold down the CTRL key and click to select the annotation. Select the drawing-Change AutoShape command from the Drawing toolbar (see Figure 3), and then select the shape you want to set from its submenu.

Here's a tip that explains how to change the shape of an annotation, and then we'll show you how to add a picture to the annotation. First, the annotation is shown in the way explained above, then double-click the annotation's border to open the Format Annotation dialog box, select the Colors and Lines tab, and select the fill effect item from the Drop-down list in the color item in the fill bar, as shown in Figure 4.

You can then open the Fill Effect dialog box, select the Pictures tab, click the Select Picture button, select the picture you want to put in the annotation, and then click OK to go back to excel editing to see that the selected picture has been added to the annotation, as shown in Figure 5.
