In scenarios where Exchange 2010 and Exchange 2016 hybrid deployments are in place, the minimum requirement for an Exchange 2010 server is to hit the latest SP3 RU11 patch.
The coexistence of each version is supported as follows.
Exchange 2007 and earlier versions
Not supported
Exchange 2010
Supports Update Rollup 11 for Exchange version SP3 or later on all Exchange 2010 servers in your organization, including Edge Transport servers.
Exchange 2013
Support Exchange 2013 Cumulative Update 10 or later on all Exchange 2013 servers in your organization, including Edge Transport servers.
Hybrid Exchange 2010 and Exchange 2013 organizations
The following minimum versions of Exchange are supported:
Exchange SP3 Update Rollup 11 or later versions on all Exchange 2010 servers in your organization, including Edge Transport servers.
