Fireworks CS5 Tool Panel

The tools panel is organized into six categories: selection, bitmap, vector, Web, color, and view. When you select a tool, the Property Inspector displays the tool options.

To display tool options in the property inspector

❖ Select Select > Deselect to deselect all objects on the canvas after the tool has been selected.

Select a tool from a tool group

The small triangle in the lower-right corner of the tools panel indicates that it is part of a tool group.

1 Click the tool icon and hold down the mouse button.

2 Drag the pointer to highlight the tool you want, and then release the mouse button.

To quickly select a hidden tool, press the group's keyboard shortcuts repeatedly until the tool that you want appears. (the shortcut appears in parentheses next to the tool name.) )
