First, new web site

Because the server Extender is configured for a single Web site, we create a new Web site in IIS before configuring it.

Go to the Administrative Tools folder under Control Panel, double-click to open Internet Information Services, and then right-click the server name and choose web site from the New submenu in the pop-up menu

Open the Web Site Creation wizard window, click Next in the Welcome window and enter the name of the Web site you created, which can be entered casually, as long as it is easy to identify the difference, then set the IP address in turn, and finally set the home directory, which is where the created site will be placed in the directory, Other settings generally just keep the default values and click Next to complete.

Second, configure the server extension program

Now that we've created the Web site, we need to configure it with a server extender. Start Internet Information Services, locate the Web site you just created on the left and right-click, select the Configure Server Extensions command in the All Tasks submenu on the pop-up menu, open the Configuration Wizard Welcome window, click Next to go to the Create Windows Group window, Creating groups makes it easy for us to differentiate between different administrative permissions, select the Create Local Computer User group option and enter a label for the group in the Enter box with the following label as the beginning of the group name to differentiate from other groups, which can be defined freely and can be identified by the IP address of the Web site. can also use the name of the site to distinguish.

Tip: When a group is created, you can open the Computer Management tool to view the group that we just added, and if you want to know what permissions users have in a group that you create, you can click what permissions are available to users in each group? button to view it.

The next step is to configure access control by adding an administrator for the site, such as "Administrator," and if you are adding a group, all members of the group will have administrative rights. As to the role of the added administrator, we will give an answer below.

Here our configuration basically depends on a paragraph to fall, because the following wizard prompts us to configure the mail server, which is basically not useful for ordinary users, you can click No to skip configuration, so continue clicking the next wizard prompts us to complete the Server Extensions Configuration Wizard. The server configuration is complete so that the page containing the FrontPage Insert Counter component will be displayed correctly and the number of visitors can be recorded correctly.
