Install FrontPage Server Extension before installing vs2003
Install FrontPage Server Extension on Windows XP
Select "run" from the "Start" menu ".
In the open dialog box, type appwiz. cpl, and click OK to open the Add/delete programs dialog box.
In the "Add/delete programs" dialog box, select "Add/delete Windows Components" on the left side of the dialog box ".
In the Windows component wizard, select Internet Information Service (IIS )".
If "Internet Information Service (IIS)" is selected, select "details ".
If "FrontPage 2000 Server Extension" is not selected, select this check box.
Click OK to close the Internet Information Service (IIS) box.
Select "Next" to start installation.
After the installation is complete, click "finish" to close the "Windows component wizard ".
Configure FrontPage Server Extension (FPSE)
Configure FrontPage Server Extension on Windows XP
Select "run" from the "Start" menu ".
In the open dialog box, type compmgmt. msc \ s and click OK to open the computer management dialog box.
In the "Computer Management" dialog box, expand "services and applications ".
Under "services and applications", expand "Internet Information Services ".
Under "Internet Information Service", expand "website ".
Right-click "default website", select "all tasks", and select "configure Server Extension ".
Note: If the "configure Server Extension" menu command is missing, you can skip to the following installation security update. If the "configure Server Extension" menu command is missing, the FrontPage Server extension has been installed and configured.
Select "Next" on the first page of the "Server Extension Configuration Wizard ".
In the "warning" dialog box, select "yes ".
For configuring the email server settings, select "No" and then "Next ".
Select "finish ".
