Today, my colleague asked me a question, the phenomenon is: the vsftp configuration file already has the Anonymous_enable=yes this setting, but when login FTP also always let enter user name and password:

I also carefully review the configuration file, did not find any problems, and finally after the inquiry, only to know that to add a configuration

No_anon_password=yes (NO)

When set to Yes, indicates that anonymous will skip the password verification step and go directly inside the VSFTPD server. So the general default is no (login will check the input email)

After adding this configuration, you will be able to log in directly to FTP to view the file, there will be no need to enter the user name and password of the box.
