Full stack JavaScript road (17) HTML5 new Character Set properties

HTML5 added a few document character set properties.

Document.charset: Represents the actual character set used by the document.

Document.defaultcharset: Represents the default character set, which is related to the browser and operating system settings.

Assuming that the document does not use the default character set, Document.charset and Document.defaultcharset may be different.

Set the document character set: However, you can change this value by using the <meta> element, the response header, or by setting the CharSet property directly. Take a look at three examples.

• <meta http-equiv= "Content-type" content= "text/html; Charset=utf-8 ">
• Document.charset = "UTF8";
• Res.header (200,{' content-type ': ' Text/html; Charset=utf-8 '})//node.js set the response header

Browsers that support Document.charset properties are IE, Firefox, Safari, Opera, and Chrome.

Browsers that support Document.defaultcharset properties are IE, Safari, and Chrome.
