(i) Ghost is the general hardware oriented Software transfer abbreviation (Universal hardware transfer software).
(b) Ghost function: The basic method of ghost is to operate a partition of the hard disk or the whole hard disk, completely copy (hard disk partition information, operating system boot area information, etc.) and pack and compress into an image file (image). When needed, the image file can be restored to the corresponding partition or the corresponding hard disk. Features include two hard drive pairs, two partition of the copy, two machines between the copy, the production of hard disk image files. More is the partition backup function, it can compress a partition of the hard disk into image files, and then save in other partitions, once the original partition failure, you can use a mirrored file to restore the contents of the partition so that it can work properly. Ghost can also be used to back up systems and complete recovery systems. Especially for schools and internet cafes, the use of ghost software to maintain the machine is very easy, the use of hard disk to copy can be quickly implemented system installation and recovery.
(iii) The following is the menu and function of Ghost:
-->local--> disk-->to disk (hard drive to grams)
-->to image (hard disk content as a mirrored file)
-->from image (restores the mirrored file to the hard disk)
-->partition-->to Partition (partition to Gram)
-->to image (partition content as mirrored file)
-->from image (restores the mirrored file to the partition)
--> Check-->image File
-->disk
-->lpt (clones the hard drive through the port.) Requires a connecting line with the port)
-->usb (clones the hard drive via a USB port). USB port connector required)
-->mulficasting
-->TCP/IP (clones the hard drive via the TCP/IP protocol). Need network card network cable)
-->options
-->quit
(iv) Primary partition backup (how to generate a C-disk image file): Boot machine to DOS mode:
--> Enter Ghost Main interface--> Select Local-->partition-->to Image
--> screen Display select hard drive and select partition (select source disk or partition as appropriate)
--> Displays the image to save the mirrored file, selects the corresponding target disk and filename, and the default file name extension. GHO (attribute implied)
--> choose whether to compress (no uncompressed), fast (low compression ratio, faster), high (higher compression ratio, slower)
-->yes (mirrored file generation)
(v) Recovery of primary partitions (recovery of image files to C disk): With a mirrored file, we can do anything at ease, once the machine system crashes can quickly restore it.
--> Enter Ghost Main interface--> Select Local-->partition-->from Image
--> Select the source disk (the path where the mirrored file is saved) and the image file name
--> Select Target Disk (C: Be sure to choose the correct, because once the error, all the information will be covered)
--> the last Choice Yes
--> reboot the machine.
(vi) Clone of hard disk to hard disk:
--> Enter Ghost Main interface--> Select Local-->disk-->to DISK
--> Select the source disk (select Local source drive is clicking on the drive numbr)
(Be sure to choose the correct, once the error, all the information will be all covered)
--> Select the target disk (select Local destination drive is clicking on the drive numbr)
--> Select the size allocation ratio for each partition of the target disk (two hard drives are the same or different.) General selection default can be)
-->yes (Start cloning)
Ghost Use Instructions
I. Cloning a partitioned Mirror file:
1. Download Ghost.exe from the Internet to save the hard disk;
2. Use the system floppy disk to start the computer to Dos;
