Git revert uses a new commit to roll back the specified commit. Git reset directly deletes the specified commit.

Git reset moves the head backward, while git revert moves forward with the head, but the content of the new commit is exactly the opposite of the content to be revert, which can offset the content to be revert.

Git reset -- hard head ~ 1

Run git st without any changes

 

Git reset -- soft (default) Head ~ 1

Run git st. The submitted content is located in the temporary storage area and is ready to be submitted.
