According to InfoWorld, Google has officially announced that, by default, Chrome will no longer automatically play non-essential Flash content on Web pages (mainly online ads), while the necessary flash content such as embedded video players will not be affected.

For some time, Google has automatically converted Flash files uploaded to Google Display network via AdWords and similar third-party tools to HTML5, but the conversion will still be displayed.
