I. What is PageRank)
PageRank is a method Google uses to evaluate the "importance" of a webpage. After merging all other factors such as the Title logo and Keywords logo, Google uses PageRank to adjust the results so that those webpages with more "importance" can rank other websites in the search results, this improves the relevance and quality of search results.
To put it simply, Google uses the following steps to rank a webpage in its search result page (SERPS:
1) find all webpages that match the search keyword
2) ranking based on page factors, such as title keyword density
3) calculate the keywords in the anchor text of the import link
4) adjust the website ranking result through PageRank score
In fact, the real website ranking process is not that simple. We will elaborate in detail later.
II. Determining factors of PageRank
Google's PageRank is based on the theory that if webpage B sets A link to webpage A (when B is an import link to webpage A), it means that webpage B thinks that webpage A has A link value, is an "important" web page. When the level (importance) of webpage B is relatively high, webpage A can obtain A certain level (importance) from the import link of webpage B and distribute it evenly to the export link on webpage.
An import link (also called a reverse link) is a link to your website, which is also called an "external link ". When you chain to another site, this site is your "export link", that is, the link you provide to other websites.
PageRank reflects the import link level (importance) of a webpage ). Therefore, PageRank is generally determined by the number of imported links of a website and the level (importance) of these links.
3. How to know the PageRank score of a web page
You can download and install Google's toolbar from the http://toolbar.google.com to display the PageRank score on the web page you are browsing. The PageRank score ranges from 0 to 10. If the PageRank score cannot be displayed, you can check the installed version number. You need to uninstall the old version, restart the machine, and install the latest version.
4. Importance of PageRank
The importance of each ranking factor in the search engine's website ranking algorithm depends on the quality of the information they provide. However, if the ranking factor is easy to operate, it is often used by some website administrators to achieve poor competition. For example, Meta Keywords, one of the first ranking factors, can be used to summarize the content of a page, however, some website administrators had to exit due to malicious operations. So "weighted value"-that is, the degree of trust that we provide information for this factor is jointly determined by the easy-to-manipulate degree and manipulation degree of the ranking factor.
