The role: tech lead/Manager
As technical leads/managers (tlms), you can own and drive technical projects and provide leadership for a group of 6-12 engineers in an innovative and fast-paced environment. you will be responsible for the overall planning, execution, and success of complex technical projects. you need to be technical leaders and motivators who are comfortable leading teams in a high-pressure, dynamic, and global, environment. jobs are broadly defined and interact with product management, sales and other groups at Google.
This position is not a pure management position; tlms are expected to contribute technically to their project. Our interview process will emphasize technical skills and management/organizational skills equally.
Responsibilities:
- Manage a team of 6-12 software engineers, including task planning and code reviews.
- Share knowledge with more junior team members via a formal mentoring relationship, reviewing code, reviewing design docs, giving technical talks, teaching classes, or as a consultant on projects.
Requirements:
- At least 5 years of experience (including time working towards advanced degrees and/or experience ).
- Strong programming capabilities in at least two of the following: Java, C ++, and python.
- Strong distributed systems and architecture knowledge, and experience with multi-tiered mission-critical systems preferred.
- Strong leader capable of motivating and energizing the very best software engineers, as well as gaining their respect.
- Demonstrated expertise in problem solving and technical innovation.
- Excellent communication abilities in both Chinese and English.
