Google will disable Windows Chrome from installing unofficial plug-ins

According to foreign media reports, Google will prohibit the Windows Chrome browser from installing plug-ins from unofficial sources next year, this means that if you want to use plug-ins to implement a function, you can only get it from Google's official Chrome online store.

Erik Kay, Chrome browser Engineering director, said in a blog that today's security mechanisms are not perfect. Although users of Windows Chrome receive security warnings when installing plug-ins with unknown sources, some malicious plug-ins will prevent the Chrome browser from reminding users. Erik Kay said many Windows users complained that the malicious plug-in will modify the Chrome browser settings and replace the new tab after installation.

However, it is worth noting that the installation of plug-ins from unofficial sources is only applicable to the stable and Beta versions of Chrome, while the developer and Canary are not affected. Although the purpose of this policy is to avoid security issues caused by malicious plug-ins, some good unofficial plug-ins will inevitably be affected, therefore, Google encourages developers to transfer their plug-ins to the Chrome online store by next January, and some websites have actively responded to Google's call, add necessary security components to the Chrome online store.
