Symptom: the hard disk cannot be found when the system is installed on the Windows XP system disk.
Solution: this is not a hardware fault. One reason is that the model uses a new SATA hard disk, which can be solved by disabling the SATA option in the BIOS.
Take hp nc/nx63xx/nc64xx and related commercial laptops using SATA hard disks as an example:
Start the laptop, and the HP or Compaq screen with the words "F10" in the lower left corner of the screen keeps clicking the F10 to enter BIOS settingsProgramThat is, the setup program.
Use the arrow keys to select device mappings under the system configuration menu in the main menu, press the Enter key, and then move the cursor to the SATA native mode option.
Use the left and right arrow keys to change the key value after the SATA native mode option from enabled to disabled.
Click F10 to save the settings, select the "yes" option, and press enter to confirm.
