Hard drive Install Fedora Core 7 under Windows XP

First, because Fedora Core 7 can not be recognized in NTFS format ... So first the hard disk format into FAT32 (the original hard drive has a WinXP system, in order to prevent in case, the retention of the XP system)

Copy the ISO image file to the old hard drive. And then downloaded a grub_for_dos-0.4.2 on the internet.

To start the installation: (The following actions are performed under XP)

1. Build a folder in C packing directory C:\boot\grub

Unzip the downloaded grub_for_dos-0.4.2. Copy everything inside to the grub directory.

2. Modify the "C:\boot\grub\menu.lst" file with the following line of code:

Title Install Fedora 7

Kernel (hd0,0)/isolinux/vmlinuz

INITRD (hd0,0)/isolinux/initrd.img

3. Open Fedora 7 DVD mirroring. Locate the Isolinux folder and copy the files Vmlinuz and initrd.img to the C disk

4. Copy the "Grldr" file inside the grub_for_dos-0.4.2 file to the C disk directory

namely: C:\

5. Modify the "Boot.ini" file in C disk (XP system startup support file)

Add a line to the bottom:

C:\grldr= "Install Fc7"

(Where to change, I don't have to say it!) say it, right click My Computer-Properties-Advanced-Settings (3rd)-Edit, open boot.ini

6. Put the CD image of the Fedora Core 7 DVD into the D-Packing directory

7. Reboot the system. Select at startup

"Install Fc7"
