We have known several tools and their usage for preparing various formats of Help files. Here we would like to introduce you to a software Help & Manual that combines various formats.

Help & Manual, as a Help file production software, can generate five different formats of common Help files (1 ), it also provides powerful link extensions such as image insertion, AVI, and other multimedia insertion, OLE hyperlinks, bookmarks, and macro insertion, allowing you to create more beautiful and lively help files with flexible redirection. It is worth mentioning that its OLE link function is very powerful and supports 26 file formats. It also supports undefined links to some file formats such as text, graphics, sound, and animation, it is omnipotent.

Click File/New to enter a dialog box, where you can choose to create a New project, or import from a large number of supported formats (including HLP files and HLP source files, CHM format and RTF format), click "Next ", let's take "Create a new project" as an example to describe its usage.

Set the location and name for saving the project, select the template, click "Next", and paste the prepared directory text here. Click "Finish" to see that the directory structure has been established according to the text you entered in the directory tree display box. Enter the corresponding content in the "Topic Options" box, enter the document to be written in the "Help Text" box, and describe each Help item. If you need to add links such as macros, images, and multimedia, you can directly select the corresponding operation under the "Insert" menu.

After creating the links to these documents, you can click "File/Preview" to Preview and check whether you are satisfied. Save the file. Note that the Help & Manual saving function can only be used to save project files in *. hm3 format, but cannot directly generate Help files in HLP format, e-Manual (RTF), or HTML format files. To get the Help file you need, you must also "generate the help file.

In the toolbar, click 2 funnel-Like buttons to go to the "generate Help File" operation. After selecting the output format, click "OK" to complete all the work. After compilation and connection, you can find the newly generated help file at the location where the file is saved. Open it and check if it is like a very professional help file. You have a complete set of functions including directories, indexes, bookmarks, editing, printing, and options. Are you happy?
