Port Overview
Port 1-16 is the downlink port of the inlined blade.
Port 17-18 is used for switch interconnection. The default value is disable.
Port 19 is used for the blade on-board administrator.
Port 20-24 is the uplink Port
Console port connected to the vswitch
To access the switch locally:
1. Connect the switch DB-9 serial connector, using the null-Modem
Serial cable to a local client device (such as a laptop computer)
VT100 terminal emulation software.
2. Open a VT100 terminal emulation session with these settings: 9600
Baud rate, eight data bits, no parity, one stop bit, and no flow
Control.
Initial Configuration Overview
1. Default logon password: user-level password: User/user, administrator password: admin/admin
2. Modify the default password CFG --> sys --> access --> User --> admpw --> apply --> Save
> Main #/cfg
> Configuration # sys
> System # access/user/admpw
Changing administrator password; validation required:
Enter current admin password:
Enter new administrator password:
Re-enter new administrator password:
New Administrator Password accepted.
> System # apply
> System # Save
Remember to use apply to make the configuration take effect every time you change it. To ensure that the configuration will continue to take effect after restart, you must save it!
Network Configuration: port 21 is uplinked to core 1 and port 22 to Core 2. Therefore, you need to add this port to all VLANs and enable tags on the uplink port. No tags are required for all downlinks.
Configure Ports 21 and 22 as tagged
Configure command CFG --> port 22 --> ENA --> cur --> tag e --> apply --> Save --> cur
Configure Ports 21 and 22 to network management VLAN 11
(Repeat the same configuration until ports 21 and 22 are added to all VLANs to be added)
Configure command CFG --> L2 --> VLAN 11 --> ENA --> Add 21 --> Add 22 --> apply --> Save --> cur
Configuration Management IP Address
Configure command CFG --> L3 --> if 1 --> ADDR --> mask --> ENA --> apply --> Save --> cur
Configure the switch GW
Configure command CFG --> L3 --> Gw 1 --> ADDR --> ENA --> apply --> Save --> cur
By default, both HTTP and telnet are enable. Therefore, After configuring the preceding settings, You can remotely telnet to the vswitch or use IE to manage the vswitch.
Command explanation:
CFG -- configure, which is the first menu
Sys -- System
L2 -- Layer 2, VLAN configuration is done here
L3 -- Layer 3, network management IP address, interface configuration here
Port -- Port Configuration
Ena -- enable
ADDR -- set the address
Mask -- set mask
Click the abbreviation of cur -- current to view the current configuration.
Apply -- application configuration (cur displays the old one before applying)
Save -- save the configuration so that the configuration will not be lost after reboot.
Note: The default Telnet/console session persistence time is 5 minutes.
