My friend purchased an HP probook 4416 s computer, but it was a great deal of trouble to re-install the system. The first installation encountered a blue screen phenomenon. It took less than one year for the new machine to be installed on a general XP system.

Later, I went online to Google and found that everyone had encountered similar problems. I found some ways and finally solved the problem of installing XP. Here I will describe the installation process in detail for the reference of colleagues who have encountered the same troubles.

1. Press F10 at startup to enter the BIOS system, and then select security...-> on the left and select "Device Configuration" on the right to set SATA device mode to "ide ";

2. Save the operation, enter the XP system, and start to install the XP system on the ghost;

3. I use deepin_ghostxp, and double-click "onekey.exe" in the file. Be sure to check "Disable ide" in "advanced. Otherwise, it cannot be installed.

I don't know why HP's computer wants to set up ide. It is said that it has signed an agreement with Microsoft and cannot use pirated XP systems. However, when buying a computer, the dealer did not describe it and installed a pirated system with us. Depressed ~~~ I spent so much effort on installing my computer. At the same time, the heat dissipation of this model is quite poor. We recommend that you buy a computer later to avoid this model.

Some HP machines can be changed but cannot be changed. If the desktop and notebook are the same, you should check the model of the motherboard.
In the bios, there is a SATA option like "advanced", which means it cannot be changed if it can be changed, or an ahci option can be selected as "disabled". The effect is the same.

I checked the reason for setting up ide as follows:

IDE ChannelIDE is called "integrated drive electronics" in English, that is, "Electronic Integrated drive", which is meant to be a hard drive that integrates the "hard drive controller" with the "disk body.

IDE InterfaceIn general, the main ide interface is connected to the hard disk, and secondary is connected to the optical drive. Therefore, the primary and secondary ide channels are the channels used to manage the read/write operations of the hard disk and the optical drive. In the computer my computer properties Device Manager, you can see the IDE channel, under the ide ati/atipi controller directory.

IDE is an interface mode. There is no ahci driver in XP, So If ahci is enabled in bios, the computer will have a blue screen, so you can disable or change ahci to IDE.
