First, what is HTML

• HTML (Hypertext Markup Language): Hypertext Markup Language, a plain text type of language

  --Use the "tag" with angle brackets to identify the contents of the page individually

• Markup language used to design a Web page
• A file written in that language, with a. html or. htm suffix
• Interpreted by the browser execution

• On HTML pages, you can embed program segments written in the scripting language, such as: Vbscript,javascrip

Second, HTML basic syntax

• The symbols used to describe the function of HTML are called "tags", such as <p>,

--tags must be enclosed in angle brackets when using them

--there are closed type tags, but also non-enclosing types of tags

• A non-enclosing type tag, also called an empty tag, or a single tag

--< Mark/> or < Mark >

• Cannot contain content
