Use Notepad to write HTML

However, we also recommend using a text editor to learn HTML, such as Notepad (PC) or TextEdit (MAC). We believe that using a simple text editor is a great way to learn HTML. Follow the four steps below to create your first page in Notepad.
Step One: Start Notepad

Step two: Use Notepad to edit the HTML
Type the HTML code in Notepad:
Step three: Save the HTML
Select "Save As" in the File menu of Notepad.
When you save an HTML file, you can use. htm as well as the. html extension. There is no difference between the two, completely according to your preferences.
Save this file in an easy-to-remember folder
Step four: Run this HTML file in the browser
Start your browser and choose the Open File command on the File menu, or double-click your HTML file directly in the folder.
The result should look something like this:
